A Heartland native, born in Omaha, Nebraska, Kyle McGinn is the fourth generation of respected lawyers in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Before graduating with Distinction from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 2014, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Creighton University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History.
Prior to entering the practice of law, Kyle worked for a Nebraska Senator in the United States Senate. He maintains an active interest in politics, including serving as Precinct Caucus Chair in the 2020 Iowa Caucus.
Kyle joined Hauptman, O’Brien, Wolf & Lathrop, P.C. in July 2022, after several years in private practice. “Hauptman O’Brien is not only well-known in our area, but it is also respected throughout the Heartland’s legal community. The firm’s focus and experience with personal injury is hard to beat and I am eager for my clients to get that level of expertise and care.”
“The part about this profession that I like most is working with everyday people,” Kyle said. “It’s important to me to have a personal connection with my clients. The people I get to help are facing some of the most challenging experiences of their entire lives. Being able to protect and shepherd them through that process successfully is what I enjoy most.”
A proud Council Bluffs resident, McGinn is active in his local community. He is currently serving on the board of Pottawattamie Arts, Culture & Entertainment (PACE). Headquartered at the Hoff Family Arts and Culture Center, PACE’s mission is to strengthen, develop and promote arts, cultural and historical institutions, organizations, and activities in Council Bluffs and Pottawattamie County as a whole.
“It’s a unique offering to southwest Iowa,” said Kyle. “It’s a relatively young organization and space; having the opportunity to impact that is rewarding.”
He is a past board member of the Council Bluffs Centennial Rotary Club, the Omaha Young Professional Council (through the Omaha Chamber of Commerce), and Impact CB (the Young Professional Board of the Council Bluffs Chamber of Commerce).
When he isn’t supporting the Council Bluffs art and culture scene, Kyle enjoys bicycling, turkey hunting, and riding his motorcycle around southwest Iowa and eastern Nebraska. He and his wife are Creighton basketball season ticket holders, and he is a longtime Husker football fan.
