A native of northeast Nebraska, Daniel Hartnett was born in Sioux City, Iowa in 1956 and raised on his family’s farm near Hubbard, Nebraska. He earned his undergraduate degree in 1978 and his Juris Doctor in 1981 from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Dan was admitted to the Nebraska and Iowa state bars in 1981 and later to the South Dakota bar, and is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. Prior to joining Hauptman, O’Brien, Wolf & Lathrop, Dan practiced law for 42 years with Crary, Huff, Ringenberg, Hartnett & Storm, PC in Sioux City, Iowa, where his practice focused exclusively on civil litigation.
