Kate is a proud Nebraskan and was raised in South Sioux City, Nebraska. She grew up running around the halls of her father’s law firm. From a young age, Kate knew that she would be an attorney.

Kate graduated from the University of Iowa in 2007, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. She then earned her Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law in 2010.

Kate has been practicing law in Iowa and Nebraska at the state and federal level since 2010. Prior to 2016, Kate handled personal injury, premises liability, title, and catastrophic construction defect claims.

As an attorney at Hauptman O’Brien, Kate specializes in workers’ compensation and personal injury claims across Iowa and Nebraska. Kate has given in-depth presentations on workers’ compensation law at the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Symposium and the National Association of Subrogation Professionals annual meeting.

When she is not at the office, Kate enjoys swimming laps, reading, cooking, honing her trivia skills, being a founding member of the Omaha Food Club, and spending time with her husband and two sons.
