Stevie in the community

Stevie’s connection with the community plays an important role in her life. While in college, she worked for a company that helped provide meals to people in need.

A die-hard Cornhuskers fan, she feels great pride going to games. When she isn’t cheering on the Huskers, she likes to spend time with her friends exploring local restaurants and Omaha’s social scene. She is also an animal lover with two cats and a dog; she enjoys taking her chocolate labrador out for long walks in local parks.

Stevie’s Personal Approach to Client Care

The daughter of partner Melany O’Brien, Stevie is a second-generation attorney with the firm. “Growing up,” she said, “I was able to see the work my mother did as an attorney and all the good she did to help people. She inspired me to pursue a career in law.”

“I like the fact that as attorneys, we can help people who don’t necessarily know how to help themselves. We can help them navigate really difficult times and take some of the pressure off of what they are going through.”

Stevie describes her approach to law as determined, hardworking, and creative. “The law isn’t always black and white. You have to find a way to overcome the obstacles you’re facing. This may mean finding ways to interpret and argue the law in a way that isn’t necessarily conventional but helps your clients.”
