Rich Hitz heads up Hauptman, O’Brien, Wolf & Lathrop’s Sarpy County office located in Bellevue, Nebraska. Rich Hitz specializes in nursing home negligence, personal injury, wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases. Rich was born and raised in Lincoln, graduating from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1999, where he received the CALI award for Excellence in American Legal History as well as being Chairman of the Client Counseling Board and graduating with the inaugural UNL College of Law – Litigation Skills Track certification. He is admitted to the State and Federal Courts in Nebraska as well as the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. Rich is a member of the Nebraska Bar Association, the Sarpy County and Omaha Bar Associations, the American Association for Justice, the Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys, the National Citizens’ Coalition for Nursing Home Reform (NCCNHR) and he is a contributing member of the Nursing Home Litigation Section for the American Association of Justice.

Mr. Hitz is a veteran of Desert Storm, where he received the Combat Action Ribbon for his service as a United States Navy Corpsman (medic) with a U.S. Marine Corps L.A.I. reconnaissance platoon during the ground offensive that liberated Kuwait City. Rich is a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Rich resides in Millard, Nebraska, and is the proud parent of three great children, Derek, Helen and Rebekah.
